Rachel Houser
I'm Rachel, the proud owner of Ruff Housin'. My dream of starting Ruff Housin' started almost 15 years ago when I moved out & got my first dog. I grew up with dogs all of my life, but this one was different. Paisley was all mine. I would have to board her from time to time and every time I would leave her, it would break my heart because I knew she was going to sit in a cage all day. I had the idea then to open a place like Ruff Housin' but life got in the way. In 2020 the opportunity presented itself & I jumped all over it. After over a year of hard work & jumping through the many & necessary hoops, my dream became reality & we officially opened our doors on February 4th, 2021! Even though Paisley is no longer with us, I structured my business around what I'd want for her if I had to be away, a day full of interaction with humans & other dogs.
Skylor Thompson
My name is Skylor! I'm the "OG" & was the very first to join the Ruff Housin' team after its opening in 2021! I am the Community Engagement & Logistics Organizer here at Ruff Housin'. I love coming up with fun activities/events for our pups, but a few of my other responsibilities include handling all of our social media/marketing, scheduling, & (soon) transportation. In my free time, I enjoy baking, drawing, reading, & spending time with my husband & our 5 rescue pups. Ruff Housin' has become my second family & I couldn't imagine my life without it. I can't wait to see what the future holds & hope you & your pup(s) will tag along for the ride!
Alisa McMahon
Hey y'all! I'm Alisa! Most of you know I joined the Ruff Housin' team towards the end of 2022 & am also known as the "The Ruff Trainer"! I love reading, watching movies, & of course, playing with all the pups possible. I'm married to my amazing husband & we have 6 fur children (4 dogs, and 2 cats). In June 2024 I was given the amazing opportunity to do an apprenticeship with a well-known & respected k9 training facility (K2 Solutions in Southern Pines). I am proud to say after completing over 200 hours, I am now a Certified Personal Pet Trainer & look forward to sharing my knowledge with you to assist with your pup's training needs.

Hey everyone! My name is MJ & I started working at Ruff Housin’ around the Summer of 2023. You may not see me often as I am the Small Yard Tamer & hiding away in the back (trying to calm the chaos)! I like to read, draw, & occasionally watch the drama that unfolds with our Ruff Housin’ dogs! I look forward to meeting you & your pup(s)!

Hello, y'all! My name is Heather! As some of you may know I am Alisa's sister & for the ones that don't know I am Alisa's oldest sister. I am Big Dog Wrangler & have been at Ruff Housin' since the end of 2023! My favorite part about working there is loving & playing with the pups & getting to see all the different breeds of dogs come. I love seeing how excited the pups get when they see one of us. I have 2 amazing kids & am engaged! I love shopping, trying new things, & playing with my babies. I don't own any dogs, but I do have 1 cat. Working for Ruff Housin' has been one of the best decisions I made in my life! Not only did I get the most amazing coworkers & boss, but I gained a whole new family! I love everything about Ruff Housin' & know you will too!
